William Jamieson

JAMIESON, WILLIAM G., 78, of North Providence and formerly of Pawtucket, passed away Sunday, August 4, 2013. He was the husband of Elizabeth (Gammons) Jamieson. They were happily married for 56 years. Born in Pawtucket, he was the son of the late George and Catherine Shaheen. Mr. Jamieson was a Marine veteran of the Korean War where he received the National Defense Service Medal. He was a postal carrier for 32 years, retiring in 1989. Bill and Betty lived in Cape Coral, Florida for 12 years before returning to Rhode Island. He was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels, a frequent blood donor, and was a coach in the Pawtucket youth baseball program for many years. Besides his wife, he is survived by his children, Karen Neary, Elizabeth Casavant and her husband, Paul, Sandra Jamieson, William Jamieson and his wife Christine, and Patricia Rochefort and her husband Kenneth, nine grandchildren and two great grandchildren. He was the grandfather of the late Steven Neary. Relatives and friends are invited to a Service Thursday at 9:30am in the COSTIGAN-O'NEILL FUNERAL HOME, 220 Cottage Street, Pawtucket. Burial with military honors will be in Rhode Island Veteran's Cemetery, Exeter. Visiting hours Wednesday 4-8pm in the funeral home.
