Gary Imhof

1947 - 2023

GARY ROBERT IMHOF Gary Robert Imhof was born in Littlefork, Minnesota on May 29th,1947. He grew up in Littlefork and attended K-12 at Littlefork-Big Falls,where he played football and basketball. Gary graduated in 1966 and moved to the twin cities. In 1969 he moved to southern California. He worked as a painter and handyman in the city of Glendale California. In 1973 he met Rebecca Jill Imhof in Glendale, California. In 1976 Gary and Jill married in Panorama City, California. In 1978 they moved to Upland, California. In 1982 they adopted their son Joshua Carl Imhof. Gary worked as a laborer for Advanco Constructors and later for Schuler Engineering. He retired from that work in 1994. In 1994 he returned to Littlefork, Minnesota to live in what he called "God's Country." He worked for the city of Littlefork until retirement in 2017. Gary loved the outdoors and enjoyed hunting for whitetail deer and spending time at his log shack. His eyesight was starting to fail, and the last time he went hunting he shot the buck in the ankle. At this point Gary realized it was time for him to just watch deer and no longer shoot at them.. He also loved to work, you could always find him tinkering in his garage or barn where he rebuilt his Ford tractor. Gary loved to help his friends and when Delack logging needed extra help he always was the person they could turn to. He also helped countless people of Littlefork with small projects. Gary was preceded in death by his parents Carl and Eileen Imhof, his brother Gerald (Nutsy) Imhof, and his sister Kathleen (Kay) Imhof. Gary is survived by his wife Rebecca Jill Imhof, his son Joshua (Destiny) Imhof, his brother Rudy (Sue) Imhof, his sisters Barb (Larry) Hendrickson, Carla Little, and his sister in-law Sonja Imhof. He is also survived by his one and only grandson Alexander Robert Imhof. The funeral will be October 14th at 11:00 am at St Columban Church in Littlefork MN. After the burial please join us for luncheon at St Columban Church.
