Born in West Reading, he was a son of the late Llewellyn and Elsie (Moyer) Bohn.
He was employed as a senior research biologist with Merck Co., West Point, for more than 43 years until retiring in 2005.
He was a graduate of Wilson High School and Albright College. He had an honorary master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania.
Dennis loved studying history and enjoyed growing bamboo.
Surviving are a son, Dmitri Bohn, and his wife, Song'Hee, East Greenville; and two daughters, Lauren A. Gray, and her husband, Scott, Sinking Spring; and Ingrid U. Gallagher, and her husband, Michael, Pennsburg.
Other survivors include three brothers: Brian Bohn, Denver, Pa.; Donald Bohn, Reading; and Ronald Bohn, Douglassville; and three sisters: Sylvia “Sue” Hager, Sinking Spring; Linda Hoelscher, Reading; and Gayle Nuss, Wernersville.
There are also three grandchildren and Caroline L. (Mill) Bohn, Reading.
He was predeceased by a brother, Nelson.
A graveside memorial service will be Oct. 25 at 11 a.m. in Pleasant View Cemetery, Sinking Spring.
Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society, P.O. Box 75, Pennsburg, PA 18073. Cremation services are by Mann-Slonaker Funeral Home Inc., East Greenville.
