I was very sorry to read of Joe's passing. My condolences to his entire family. I first met Joe in 1965 when I graduated from high school. He hired me to work in the order entry department at what was then Carpenter Steel. I worked for Joe for 2-1/2 years until I got married. When my husband was sent to Vietnam, I returned to the area and Joe hired me back at Carpenter until my husband came home. I never saw Joe after that, but he was a very nice man and good supervisor and I never forgot my first boss. He will be missed. Sincerely, Judy Vogel

I would like to express my sympathy to Joe's entire family. I met Joe while we were both musky fishing on the river. After a little musky talk we discovered we both fished Charleston Lake the same week every year. He also knew my parents Minka and Fat. Also my aunt Kitty and uncle Rip Tetlak. Talk about a small world. I ran into Joe many times on the river after that day and always enjoyed talking to him. Again my condolences to the family.
