Shirlyn Varner Obituary
Shirlyn Varner, 55, Shillington, passed away Monday, February 3rd, at Reading Hospital and Medical Center.
Shirlyn was born in Reading, on May 29, 1958, a daughter of Shirley M. (Schlegel) Brown, of Reading and the late Richard Brown Sr.
She was the wife of Tom S. Varner.
She was employed as a manager at various department stores in the area. Shirlyn loved to watch football with Tom especially if her favorite team, the Vikings, were playing. She also loved spending time with her grandson and going to the beach.
She was a 1976 graduate of Reading High School.
She was a member of Hope Lutheran Church, Reading.
Shirlyn is survived by her daughter, Shaelyn Varner, of Reading; and 2 sons, Michael A. Kieffer, Auburn, Joshua J. Kieffer, of Auburn; a stepdaughter, Brittany Varner, and a stepson, Tom Varner Jr. Shirlyn is also survived by five sisters: Sandra Phile, Tamarra Brown, Sherry Heckman, Tracy Lerch and Pamela Brown; and a brother, Richard Brown Jr. She is also survived by grandson, Zakary, son of Joshua Kieffer and granddaughter, Makayla Persons.
Religious Service at Sanders Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 1501 N. 11th St., Reading, Friday 11 a.m. Friends are invited to call Friday 10:00-11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment at Berks County Memorial Gardens.
Family request donations to funeral home help defray burial expenses.

God blessed this earth with this very special woman. I am so grateful that he allowed her to be a part of my life. Her love for her family and friends was beyond compare. The loss of someone so special is difficult to bear. But, we celebrate her life and rejoice in the knowledge that she is walking hand in hand with the Lord and smiling down on us all.

Aunt Shirlyn,
It's hard to believe that you have joined the angels. You were very talented, creative, and gave great advice. You are missed deeply and know that you are watching over the family.
