Christine Mingo Obituary

Christine Mingo Christine "cricket" Mingo passed away peacefully on December 10, 2018, surround by herfamily. She will be remembered by her beautiful smile, heartfelt laugh, and encouraging words. Christine shared an aspiring love with her husband, Donald Mingo JR, for 26 years. She was a truly inspiring mother to Alyssa, Lexie, Destinee and Donald III, and we will remember how hard she worked along with her husband to give them the best life they could, and boy, did they do a good job. She is survived by her brother, Brad, her two sisters, Brandi and Monique, her mother-in-law, Maggie, and grandfather, Fred. She was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2014. However, she did not let projected timelines define her journey. She fought hard, beat the odds and left a lasting impression on everyone she came in to contact with. Her nurses and doctors often commented on how she navigated her journey with cancer with kindness, determination and her willful spirit. Let alone that beautiful smile. She inspired everyone she met with her positive mindset and motivating words. She was given cancer, but she gave the family the gift of closeness and taught us the importance of being together. She enriched all of our outlook on life and helped us find the beauty in everything that life gives us: the ups and downs. Christine would like us all to celebrate her journey, to embrace each day that we have; and to LOVE LIFE. I held her in my arms when she was a baby, she held me from then on. She always had the ability to speak words without a sound through her expressions. Not long ago at Brush Street I was upset about something and was getting rather loud when my cousin Brad took me to the side and simply said "look" as he pointed me in the direction of his sister. That sweet innocent loving kind concerned beautiful look could calm the roughest of all seas. Her beauty will live on through her children she loves so dearly. Thank you God for sharing with me my love, my cousin, Cricket. Ken Jackson.
