I still can't believe that Kathy -- my close friend since second grade, favorite prankster and nature nerd, fellow lover of oddities and partner in crime -- is gone. She was probably the only person on the planet I was never once mad at, because she was always understanding and kind. I hope her fascination with the mysteries of life, her sense of adventure and the wisdom she gained through her work as a hospice nurse eased her through this transition. May her strength and wonderful, yet slightly wicked spirit be forever remembered and help all her family and friends carry on.
