Margaret M. Cayer

SOUTHINGTON - Margaret M.(Mulligan) Cayer, 82, of Southington, passed away peacefully at her home with her husband of 60 years, Maurice, by her side on Saturday, June 23, 2012.

Born Oct. 25, 1929, in Waterbury to the late Clement and Margaret (Bogaert) Mulligan, she had been a longtime Southington resident.

Margaret is survived by 10 children, Thomas Cayer and wife, Virginia, of Southington, Richard Cayer and wife, Barbara, of Sierra Vista, Ariz., David Cayer and wife, Cynthia, of Wolcott, Marguerite Maddalena, of Southington, Edward Cayer and wife, Lynn, of Naugatuck, Suzanne Cayer, of Southington, Paul Cayer and wife, Diane, of Southington, Jeanne Budarz and husband, Mark, of South Windsor, Douglas Cayer and wife, Shane, of Southington and Jeffrey Cayer and wife, Jennifer, of Lakeland, Fla.; 28 grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Margaret graduated from St. Joseph College as a registered nurse. She and her husband were founding members of St. Aloysius Church.

A funeral Mass will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday, June 28, at St. Aloysius Church, 254 Burritt St., Plantsville. Burial in St. Thomas Cemetery, Southington will be at the convenience of the family. Calling hours will be held on Wednesday, June 27, from 4 to 7pm at the Plantsville Funeral Home, 975 S.
