Richard Cuff I Obituary

Richard E. Cuff I., 67, of Meriden and formerly of Milford, passed away peacefully on Sunday, September 19, 2021 after a brief illness. Richard was born in Milford on November 4, 1953 and was the son of the late William and Catherine (Kissel) Cuff. Richard was a retired tool-maker who loved to create tools and also collect them. It was his passion. He loved wood working, camping, working on his Jeeps, and antique shopping, trips to Vermont and New Hampshire and anywhere just be outdoors with his family. Sleepovers with his grandkids and scary movie nights meant the most to him. Richard was also a devout football fan and also Springfield College where his late son Richard II played football. After retirement, Richard was a paint specialist in the paint department at the Orange Home Depot. Richard is survived by his daughters, Sarah Cuff of Meriden, and Stacy Peracchio and son in law James. He is also survived by his very special grandchildren, Logan, Mia, Gianna, James, and Richard III., his niece Kelly Harrigan and nephew Brian Harrigan and also his great nephew Grayson Richard. Richard also leaves behind his brother William Cuff of Milford, and his sister Clare Harrigan and her husband Kevin also of Milford, his former spouse, Tina Martin-Barry of Southington and by his daughter-in-law Rachel Cuff, and also by his furry feline companion, Pharoh. Richard was pre-deceased by his son Richard II, and by his twin siblings William S. and Donna Marie. A service for Richard will be held on Tuesday, September 28, 2021 at 10:30 AM in the DellaVecchia Funeral Home, 211 N. Main Street, Southington, CT 06489. Burial will follow in Oak Hill Cemetery, where he will be laid to rest next to his son. Calling hours will be on Monday, September 27, 2021 from 5 to 8 PM at the funeral home. Should friends desire, contributions in Richard's memory may be made to the ASPCA, 520 8th Ave, New York, NY 10018.
