Carmen was 78 years old when she passed away in Porterville, California on January 16th 2023, surrounded by family. Carmen was born in Michoacn, Mexico on May 1, 1944, she was the oldest of 6 siblings. Carmen moved to Porterville, California in 1977 and resided there until her passing. She was a daycare provider for over 25 years and was like a second mother to many of the children she helped raise. She was a strong, independent, caring mother and grandmother. As a single mom Carmen raised 5 children on her own, along with many of her grandchildren. Carmen would often tell her kids that their health and happiness was the only thing she longed for in this lifetime. It brings comfort to her loved ones knowing she has been reunited with her youngest daughter Maribell. Carmen will be greatly missed.

Carmen is survived by her children Raymond Sanchez, Marcos Ortega, Grace Sanchez Acosta and Veronica Sanchez. Her Siblings Rosa Cruz, Jose Sanchez, Maria Sanchez, and Alfredo Sanchez. Along with 19 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Viewing will take place on Monday, February 6, 2023 at Porterville Funeral & Cremation Center, located at 765 W. Henderson Ave., from 2:00pm-7:00pm with Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00pm. Mass of the Resurrection will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2023, at 11am at Holy Cross Catholic Church followed by her burial at Hillcrest Memorial Park.
