Constance 85 Obituary
Hortonville, NY
Constance Marie "Connie" Fink, a lifelong resident of Hortonville, passed away peacefully into eternal rest on the morning of May 10, 2008. She was 85.
Connie was the younger of the two children of Elmer W. and Alma (Schmidt) Robisch. She was born on Easter Sunday in her parents' home in Hortonville. She was predeceased several years ago by her brother, Elmer O. (Sonny) Robisch. She was the widow of Howard F. Fink. They married while he was in the U.S. Army Air Corps during the Second World War. After the war they made their home and raised their four sons in a family-constructed house in Hortonville.
Connie is survived by her sons, John H. Fink and wife, Marcia of Callicoon; Terrance A. (Teb) Fink and wife, Kathleen of Callicoon; Thomas O. Fink of Livingston Manor; and David J. Fink of Hortonville; her grandchildren: Amy Fink and Jennifer Fink; Nikki and husband, William Maxwell, Farrah Fink and Terrance Fink; Joann and husband, Thomas Gibson and Michael Fink; along with great-grandchildren, Christopher, Kelsey, Heather, Jordan and Kayla, who will greatly miss her kind, comforting words and gentle, caring ways; as well as by many nieces and nephews whom she respected.
Connie lived a fulfilling life in simpler times when a clean home, well-prepared meals and a mother's love and guidance were accomplishments one could be proud of, and ones which she faithfully and lovingly provided.
She enjoyed being a part of her hometown and especially enjoyed visits by her many life-long friends. She often expressed gratitude for her youngest son, David, for his extraordinary efforts in making it possible for her to remain in her family home after the loss of her husband so many years ago.
There will be no visitation. A memorial service will be held later at the convenience of the family.
Contributions in Connie's memory may be made to the Upper Delaware Ambulance Corps, the Hortonville Vol. Fire Dept., or the Auxiliary of the Grover Hermann Division of Catskill Regional Medical Center; each of which was so very helpful in her times of need.
The Stewart-Murphy Funeral Home, Inc., in Callicoon is undertaking arrangements, 845-887-4900.
