Jean Levine Obituary
Jean Levine, a longtime resident of Monticello, died on Tuesday, January 16, 2007 in Plainview, Long Island, N.Y. She was 83 years of age.
Jean was born October 6, 1924 in the Bronx, N.Y. to the late Nathan and Dora Binder Ott.
She was the widow of Bernard, 'B'laib' Levine who passed away on March 15, 2000.
Jean is survived by her daughter, Ena Haase and her husband, Yoram, of Plainview, Long Island, N.Y.; and a son, Jonathan Levine and his wife, Judy of Liberty. She also leaves her five loving grandchildren, Noa Tal Haase, and Sharon Mirit Haase of Plainview, Long Island, N.Y. and Jared Levine, Jeffery Levine, and Jason Levine of Liberty.
She was predeceased by one brother, William Ott; her sister, Nettie Ott; and one nephew, Richard Ott.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, January 17, 2007 at 1 p.m. in the Joseph N. Garlick Funeral Home, 388 Broadway, Monticello. Rabbi Ben-Zion Chanowitz will officiate. Burial will be in the Woodridge Synagogue Cemetery, Marsh Rd. Glen Wild.

Yoram and Ena, Jon and Judy, and your families -
I was very sad to learn of Jeannie's passing. I'm sorry that distance makes it so that I cannot be there for the funeral. My thoughts and prayers are with all of you today. Jeannie marched to her own drummer and many times when I think of her, it makes me laugh. She was certainly one in a million and I'm glad that she has now found peace. I know she loved all of you so much because she told me so many times.
