I started calling him "Dad" when I married his son. As our relationship grew over the years he became so much more. He was my dear friend, my wise advisor, and as close to a dad as he could be. Sometimes we would go shopping or go to lunch at Popeye's or just sit and talk nonsense. He would tell me outrageous stories and dirty jokes and I would egg him on. He would buy angelfood cake and weird fruit for me and the boys when he went to the store. I love you Dad and will miss you terribly.

What an extraordinary, ordinary life. Uncle Gordon had some amazing experiences as he traveled the world, and he touched many lives as an educator and encourager. He will be greatly missed by all of us.
