Phillip Hurte Obituary
Phillip D. Hurte, 58, died suddenly June 4, 2014.
Born in Chicago, he lived most of his life in this area and was employed in sales at Cascade Auto Group. He loved to golf with Debbie, music, cook, night fish with David, and his pets, Izzy and Finny.
Preceded in death by parents, William and Dorothy Mae Hurte and nephew, Brent; he is survived by wife, Debra Strouse-Hurte; son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Diani Hurte of Houston, Texas; stepson, John Barber; grandsons, Dylan Hurte and Colton Barber; brothers, David and Dennis Hurte; sisters, Sheila Hayden and Sharon Robinson all of the Akron area; nieces and nephews, Erica, Sarah, Crystal, Anthony, Adam, Brian, Evan, and Wyatt; best friend, John Labbe and wife, Deb; Vivian Hurte, and many dear friends.
A memorial service with remarks by family and friends will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Billow FALLS Chapel, 1907 23rd St., with calling hours one hour before. Should friends desire, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Greater Akron, 7996 Darrow Rd., Twinsburg, OH 44087 or LifeBanc, 4775 Richmond Rd., Cleveland, OH 44128-5919.

Phil, I only knew you for 4 years, but your passing deeply saddens me. You were my favorite co-worker... No, I never told you that in person, but anytime that I was to have any kind of interaction with you, it was always a grande time! Phillip D. Hurte is my 1st cousin. Our mothers were sisters. When Phil was a little boy his family moved to Tennessee and at that time he was known as Dale, his middle name. He and my brother , Jerry, was best buddies and could get into mischief, but he was still one of the sweetest little boys you could know. When his family moved to Ohio then he became Phil, but to all his Tennessee cousins he was always Dale and through the years of us visiting him or if he visited us , he answered to Dale. No matter what he was called it was his personality that would shine. He was the kindest sweetest person, always a smile, could make you laugh with his quick wit. Just a few yrs. ago, several of us cousins and our Mom made the trip to all be together. What a fun time with he and Deb and all his siblings. We love them all. My sweet cousin, you will always be in our hearts and memories. RIP Phillip Hurte but I want to say, I will always love you, Dale!!
