SHEILA BRAND
03/03/1966 - 05/05/2025
Sheila Marie (Guetter) Brand, 59, of Lake Crystal died peacefully with family by her side on Monday, May 5, 2025, at Cottagewood Senior Community in Mankato after a 10-year battle with Alzheimer's.
A Visitation will be held from 9 to 11 a.m. on Thursday, May 22 with a funeral to follow at 11 a.m. St. Anne's Catholic Church in Wabasso. Northview-North Mankato Mortuary assisted the family with arrangements.
Sheila was born on March 3, 1966, in Olivia to Roger Guetter and Diana Roozen. She attended Olivia Public School until her family moved her senior year to Lucan where she graduated from Wabasso Public School in 1984.
On July 19, 1986, Sheila married Thomas Brand, the love of her life. Any time Tom entered the room, her eyes lit up and her smile was bigger than the sky. He was her lifeline throughout her life. Together they welcomed two sons, Tyler and Justin. Her sons were her greatest gifts! She was the best mom and would do anything for them. To her little loves, her three grandchildren, Corbin, Madeline and Brody, you had one of the best grandma's.
Sheila loved being with family and friends sitting outdoors, listening to music and dancing. She loved gardening and canning with Tom. Doing crafts and going to garage sales with her mom and stepdad, Tom. Dairy Queen trips for a "dry" hamburger with pickles only and a medium Reese's peanut butter cup Blizzard. Throughout her illness we made sure she was pampered, from shopping trips to hair appointments and of course she loved getting her beautiful fingernails painted. She also enjoyed slushes, bananas and treats when we visited. Sheila deserved it all and so much more. We will forever miss her Special K bars and banana bread.
Sheila will forever be loved and missed by her husband, Tom; sons, Tyler (Jaimee) and Justin (Heather); three grandchildren, Corbin, Madeline and Brody; father, Roger (Sharon) Guetter; sisters, Sandy (Brad) Miller, Sonya (Tim) Hoffmann; and brother, Scott (Terra) Guetter; stepdad, Tom Roozen; many brothers-and sisters-in-law; nieces, nephews, great-nieces and -nephews; and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Diana Roozen; sister, MaryKay Guetter in infancy; mother-and father-in-law, Herbert and Faye Brand; grandparents, Raymond and Dorothy Emerson, George and Harriet Guetter and Alphonse and Matilda Guetter; brothers-in-law, Michael Miller and Mike (Barb) Brand; many uncles, aunts and cousins.
"There was a time when I was free to live my life in harmony, before the illness, which blighted me, swept faces and places from my mind, people I loved from my memory. Remember me as I used to be. Think of me; remember my smile, the love we shared; linger awhile. I am at peace now, I am me. At rest for all eternity" by Jennifer Alderton
