Michael Berstein Obituary

BERNSTEIN Berstein, Michael S., a Senior Attorney of the Miami Juvenile Public Defenders Office, passed away suddenly on Saturday, February 1, 2003. He previously was engaged as an attorney for the U.S. Internal Revenue Service, Treasury Department. Michael, 54, was a loving son, brother, uncle and great uncle. For more than 20 years, he was an attorney who dedicated himself to his clients and fellow employees at the Juvenile Public Defenders Office. He loved his work and was loved by his colleagues. He was a graduate of the University of Connecticut and The University of Baltimore School of Law. Bernstein is survived by his mother and father, Rose and Sol Bernstein; sister, Janet (Robert) Shapiro; nephews Eric (Sami), Jay and Bradley Shapiro; and great niece Jordan Shapiro. Funeral services will be held Monday, February 3, 2003 at 2:00 PM at the Menorah Riverside-Gordon Chapel, 20955 Biscayne Blvd., Aventura with interment to follow at Beth David Cemetery, Hollywood. In lieu of flowers contributions may be made in honor of Michael to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society (www.nationalmssociety.org).
