Inness, Forrest Inness, Jacob Inness, Noah Inness, and Grace Inness and two great grandchildren, Beck and Hendrik Johnson. He is preceded in death by his parents.
George graduated from Galesburg High School in 1952. He attended Iowa State University, Ames, Iowa, where he was a member of Tau Kappa Epsilon fraternity. He and the members of the TKE's got together every year for 60 years. He was a farmer his entire life and owned and operated Inness Farm Supply. He retired in 2005. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Galesburg where he was a board member and a bus driver for 40 years. He was a member of 4-H, F.F.A. and was involved with Shorthorn Cattle exhibits throughout the United States. I was deeply sorry to hear of George's passing.
Marci, I remember the GHS basketball games that Joan and Roger took me to as a kid. We sat near you and George and usually went out somewhere after for a snack. That was such fun for me as I seldom got to eat out. George was always so much fun. As an adult, I renewed our friendship through the museum in Knoxville. He played his relative who sat on the jury in the John Osborne trial. He was such a joy. I remember asking him to do he role. He said he would as long as he didn't have to say anything. This is a wonderful picture of George and how I will remember him, always smiling.

I will miss George. I often saw him at Innkeeper's in the early morning hours. Such a nice man. He always had a smile and a hello for everyone. My condolences to the family. May the Angels surround George with a white light of love and protection as they gently escort him home.

Just heard that George passed. I will always be grateful to him for believing in my brother and I when we were having difficulty with lenders. He sold us chemicals and fertilizer on credit when no one else would, on just our word. The world will miss him. Sorry for your loss. Bob Nelson

Dear Marcy and Inness family,

I'm extremely sorry to hear of George's passing. I truly appreciated the gentleman that George always was to me during my very valued days calling on Inness Farm Supply.
I really enjoyed Marcy and George on our Van Diest Supply Company trips and I'll never forget the undeclared eating contest that George and I had in a Brazilian steak house in Rio. George truly loved his family, life, hard work, and his relationships.

Please accept my deepest condolences and I'm sorry that I won't be able attend his celebration of life.

My condolences to Marcy and all the family. My mother, Helen Stanford, was born in Galesburg and made sure our family went to visit and see the farm. We were all very fond of George-- his wit, warmth, honesty and loving nature. George was such a devoted family man and loved the farm so much. I will always remember his kindness and his wonderful laugh. He was well loved and lived an exemplary life.
