Theodore Munson Obituary
Monmouth - Theodore "Ted" F. Munson, 79, of Monmouth, IL, passed away at 3:04 p.m., Saturday, November 28, 2020 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center, Peoria, IL.
He was born on July 11, 1941 in Monmouth, the son of Emil Lawrence and Dora Frances (Gilbert) Munson. He was raised and educated in the Monmouth area graduating from Warren High School in 1959.
Ted married Bonny G. Hasten on August 1, 1962 and she survives.
Ted was the owner/operator of Munson TV and Appliance in Monmouth. He was a member of the Oddfellows and enjoyed visiting with people at area coffee shops. He loved to tromp through the timber hunting for mushrooms. He especially loved spending time playing with his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife; one son, Chris (Jody) Munson of Phoenix, AZ; two grandchildren Ashley Munson and Justin (Casey) Munson both of Bourbonnais, IL; two great-grandchildren Bentley and Cora Munson; and one brother, Floyd Munson of Monmouth. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one son, Theodore F. Munson, Jr.; one brother Richard Munson; and two nephews Richard and Michael Munson.
Cremation rites have been accorded. There are no services planned at this time. McGuire & Davies Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of the arrangements. For more information or to leave an online condolence, please visit,
