I found Jean´s obituary after reflecting that she was the best therapist I´ve had (of quite a few) and looking her up to see where she was at. I am sad to hear the news but grateful to learn more about her life. I´m thankful for the time I was able to be Jean´s client at her private practice before I moved away and carry with me much that I learned from her.

Jean was a great joy to have as an instructor. She had such energy that lit the room up. It saddened me to see her obituary. I wish her peace and light.

I did not know Jean (she was behind me in school), but her father was my childhood doctor. My deepest sympathy to her family and friends. Your loss is a loss to the world.

I will miss her beautiful spirit and amazing smile. Every part of her soul resonated within her luminous eyes. She had so many talents and brought a wealth of knowledge to her work with raptors. May she fly as free as those she saved and released. May she know how much she was loved and will be missed. May she rest and be at peace.

When our two families went on week long backpacking trips each summer it was always Jean, as the youngest and most tender, who would be most devoured by mosquitoes. One morning after sleeping near Waldo Lake (I think) we counted 80 bites on just one side of her face and one arm. We gave up counting after that. I can't seem to wrap my head around the passing of such a wonderful human. Eston, Bart and I send our love and share the grief of all who knew Jean. LWM

Jean was the first smiling face as I stepped off the greyhound bus after my release from the women's prison in Wilsonville. She wrapped her arms around me and said WELCOME HOME. That was 11 years ago. I'd never met her prior to that day. She was the director of the women's program at Sponsors Inc. a Reentry and transitional housing program. Her love and dedication to her job, we're relentless. Every one of the 30 women there would swear they were her favorite client. That's how well she loved. She taught me to live and love with purpose, and to one day give it back to someone else. Service to others is what she dedicated her life to. It's with honor, that I work with Sponsors in a capacity to do exactly that. I am devistated by her loss but know that she is now at peace and surrounded by a love like she has never known. I could only hope to touch and make a difference in a fraction of the lives that this Extrordinary woman has. Fly on my sweet friend. You are truly missed.

You will be missed Jean! I can't say how fortunate I was to have this woman in my life! Jean helped so many of us women. I know I am speaking for so many women when I say she helped us learn how to live, how to do recovery, how to work, just everything. My heart is sad but wherever you are Jean, I hope you are at peace. I will miss your smile.

I volunteered with Jean at Turtle Ridge wildlife sanctuary. Her healing touch, her calm manner, her wealth of knowledge, and her beautiful smile made all of us around her, whether it was raptor, human or beast feel better.
When Jean went into hospice work, I knew that role would fit her like a glove. I am a hospice nurse, and doing this work requires a loving heart and a kind soul. That is Jean in a nutshell. I sure am going to miss her!
