HARRY PHILLIPS JR.
EATON — Harry Phillips Jr., 90, of Eaton, passed away Tuesday, April 22, 2014, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, Indiana.
He was born May 13, 1923 in Washington Courthouse, Fayette County, to the late Harry and Mary (Breakfield) Phillips Sr. He was a 42-year member of the Full Gospel Temple, Eaton, where he had served as a teacher, deacon and elder. He was a World War II Army Air Corp Veteran and served in the South Pacific as an airplane radio tech. He retired from Local #79 of the International Heat & Frost Asbestos Workers Union of Dayton, and was also a longtime farmer. He enjoyed spending time with his family and fishing.
In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by eight brothers and sisters.
He is survived by his wife of 72 years, Rosa Catherine (Rothwell) Phillips of Eaton; son Harry (Vicki) Phillips III of Lewisburg; daughters Kathy (Timothy) Halcomb and Judith (John) Morrison both of Eaton; seven grandchildren; and 16 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 26, at the Full Gospel Temple, 4745 U.S 127 North, Eaton. Burial followed at Mound Hill Cemetery, Eaton. Girton Schmidt & Boucher Gard Funeral Home, Eaton, assisted the family with arrangements.
