Ofelia Gonzalez Longoria, 89, passed away Wednesday, March 12, 2014, in Abilene. Funeral Services will be held Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Hamlin Church of the Nazarene, with burial following at Hamlin Memorial Cemetery, directed by Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 6:00-7:00 p.m. on Friday, March 14, 2014, at Adams-Foster-Ray Funeral Home.

Born February 15, 1925, in Robstown, Texas, Ofelia was the daughter of Esiquel and Maria (Butista) Gonzalez. She married the love of her life, Leandro Longoria, in Robstown on July 6, 1940. Together, they raised eleven children, in a house filled with love and laughter. She moved with Leandro to Hamlin in 1963. Ofelia was the family matriarch to six generations of her family, an excellent cook, and a seamstress. She attended the Hispanic Baptist Church of Hamlin.

Ofelia is preceded in death by her husband, Leandro Longoria; her parents, Esiquel and Maria Gonzalez; sisters, Otila Garcia and Ernesta Gonzalez; brothers, Julio Gonzalez, Octavio Gonzalez, and Esiquel Gonzalez, Jr.; son, Tomas Longoria; daughters, Ofelia Rivera, Audelia Villanueva,, and Olivia Longoria.

She is survived by three sons, Alejandro Longoria of Quanaha, Guillermo Longoria of Bryan, and Cristoval Longoria of Dickinson; four daughters, Mary Lechuga of Hamlin, Lucia Olivarez of Rockport, Juanita Ortiz of New Mexico, and Emilia Longoria of Sheridan, Wyoming; her sister, Hermina Flores of Pasadena; fifty-two grandchildren; one hundred eighty-two great-grandchildren; one hundred thirty-six great-great-grandchildren; two great-great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, and cousins.
