Shirley J. Brooks-McClain 65 of San Antonio passed away Sunday November 23, 2014 at Northeast Baptist Hospital in San Antonio TX. Funeral Services will be Held Saturday November 29, 2014 at 1:00pm at the Benson Memorial Church of God and Christ with Supt. Jack Landrum as the eulogist. A visitation will be held on Saturday at the church starting at 11:00am.

Shirley was born December 7, 1948 in Cameron TX to the parentage of Raymond Brooks and Eveline Foster-Brooks. She attended schools in Cameron TX, and at a young age she moved to Odessa and while there she was employed at the Women and Children Hospital where she retired after 25 years of service. After retirement she moved to Chilton and spent some time there before moving to San Antonio to be with her son and his family. Being the very outgoing person she was, Shirley never met a stranger and would give you the shirt off of her back. She loved to Cook and entertain her family on any given day.

Left to cherish her memories are son Rufus Brooks (Bettye) of San Antonio, father Raymond Brooks of Abilene, 8 sisters, Diane Bell (Billy) of Chilton, Patricia Harrison (Edgar) of Houston, Louise Brooks (Dwan)of Abilene, Alice McKee (Douglas) of Chilton, Rose Brooks of Cameron, Alina Crain (Billy) of Abilene, Yolanda Paul of San Angelo, and Pam Brooks of Lott TX. 2 Brothers Waymond Brooks (Wanda) of, and Wayne Brooks both of Abilene. 5 grandchildren, Quantisha, Rutanji, Keebo, Rugina, and Runeesha.

Shirley was preceded in death by husband Walter McClain, mother Eveline Brooks, sister Karen Brooks-Philips, 3 nephews Ricky, Anthony, and Marcus, great-niece Denaijah and great-nephew Deauntea. Online Condolences may be made at www.dovefuneralhome.net. Arrangements entrusted to Dove Funeral Home.
