John Johnson

January 7, 1962 - May 13, 2025

John H. Johnson, 63, of Rice Lake, Wisconsin, passed away after a battle with lung cancer, on May 13, 2025 in Stillwater, Minnesota.

John was born in Grand Rapids, Minnesota to James and Amy Johnson on January 7, 1962. He grew up in several cities throughout the country and graduated from Apple Valley High School in 1980. After high school, he proudly served in the United States Marine Corps for 15 years. Areas of operation served include Sri Lanka, Okinawa, and Brazil. After his military service, he worked as a Service Manager for Fay Auto in Amery, WI for 4 years and as a Warranty Manager for Don Johnson Motors in Rice Lake, WI for 25 years. His final job was as a Security Guard for The Turkey Store in Barron, WI prior to retiring in March of 2025.

John enjoyed spending time, whether in person or on FaceTime, with his family. John was a kind-hearted person who was always willing to help people in need. A proud single father, he raised a son who is serving in the United States Navy.

John is survived by his son, Daniel (Clhoe); brother, Robert (Marlene); sisters, Karen and Beth; and grandson, Miles.

John was preceded in death by his parents, and brother-in-law, Dave Woods.

Funeral & interment services will be held privately with family and close friends at East Immanuel Lutheran Church in Amery, WI.
