John T. Wiseman

1927 - 2015

John T. Wiseman, 88, passed away on Tuesday, Sept. 15. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Phyllis (Reed) Wiseman. Born in Braintree, Mass., on Feb. 1, 1927, the son of James Frederick Wiseman and Marie Trudeau Wiseman, John was the brother of, the late Jane (Wiseman) James and Frederick Wiseman. John was the loving father of Pamela Jane (David Farley) of Cheshire, Conn., and Suzanne Reed (Michael Marinaro) of Plymouth, Minn. He was the proud grandfather of Joseph Anthony, Nicholas John and Ava J. in Marinaro. He was also uncle of Marybeth (James) Aiello of Methuen, Mass., and Mark James of HohoKus, N.J. He will be greatly missed by all.
A Marine Corps veteran serving in World War II and during the Korean War. John was a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania '54 and the Tuck School of Business at Dartmouth College '56. He retired as senior vice president of Citizens Bank, was an honorary member of the East Greenwich Yacht Club and active member of the Water Board in Quonochontaug R.I., for many years. John's friends will remember the intense conversations, his unique sense of humor (seen regularly in the Tuck '56 Alumni Column) talent in gardening and loyalty to the Red Sox.
A funeral mass will be celebrated on Friday, Oct. 16 at 11 a.m. at St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick. Interment with military honors will be in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Semperfifund.org. Arrangements by Hill Funeral Home. ?
