Carl Hicks Obituary
He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. He is survived by his daughters, Joyce Lynette Hicks Sexton and Violet Elaine Hicks Spitzer; son-in-law, Bill Spitzer; daughter-in-law, Lesleye Hicks; brother-in-law and best friend, Jimmy Davidson; brother-in-law, Earl Davidson; and special cousins, Jimmy and Bobby Stout. He also leaves behind many other nephews, nieces, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and life-long friend Buck Edwards.
He was preceded in death by his son, Carl Steven Hicks,; grandson, Travis Keith Brown; parents, Sam and Myra Hicks; brother, Edward Hicks; and sisters, Violet Davidson, Marie Pier and Mollie Ann Davidson. Carl was born in Rockwood and spent much of his life here. At the time of his death he was a resident of Rockwood Village. He enjoyed fishing, telling stories of his travels and watching westerns. The family has opted not to have a service at this time due to the current Covid-19 numbers in East Tennessee.
