Paul Dunn Obituary

Paul A. Dunn III, 71, of Roanoke, Va., passed away on Monday, January 4, 2010. He is preceded in death by his father, Paul A. Dunn Jr. Mr. Dunn was born in Buffalo, N.Y., where he served as a volunteer fireman. There he met his wife of 45 years, Mary Jo, and together they moved to Roanoke in March of 1973. Mr. Dunn was a longtime member of Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church and enjoyed fishing and Smith Mountain Lake. He served his country faithfully in the United States Marines from 1956 to 1958. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his mother, Marion; daughters, Jody Myers and husband, Ken, Wilmington, N.C., Molly Plunkett and husband, Jeff, of Spartanburg, S.C., and Erin Woods and husband, William, Callaway; grandchildren, Jessica and Tanner Myers, Tyler and Jordan Plunkett, and Krystal and Ryan Woods; great-grandchildren, Kailey and Braydon Woods; sister, Linda Dunn-Bersh and husband, Eric; brother, Victor Dunn and wife, Judy; and numerous nieces and nephews. A Memorial Mass of the Resurrection will be held 11 a.m. on Saturday, January 9, 2010, at Our Lady of Nazareth Catholic Church with Msgr. Joseph Lehman officiating. Arrangements by Oakey's South Chapel, 540-989-3131.
