Albert C. Thomas BATTLEBORO - Albert C. Thomas, age 85, passed away on Saturday, December 31, 2022. Born in Pitt County, NC on October 22, 1937, he was the son of the late John Thomas and Dorothy White Thomas. He was also preceded in death by his first wife, Myrtle Wommack Thomas.

Albert served in the National Guard prior to serving in the US Navy. Albert proudly served over 30 years in the Department of Corrections. Over the years, he worked at A & P, Big Star, and Harris Teeter as a part-time butcher. Albert was a devoted member of Bethany Baptist Church. He enjoyed gardening and taking care of the landscaping of his home. Albert also loved family cookouts and spending time with his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend, and will be dearly missed but never forgotten.

Albert is survived by his wife of seven years, Phyllis Hall Thomas; his son, Courtlon Thomas and wife, Tammy, of Whitakers; his daughters, Amy Davidson Wright of Henderson, and Rhonda Thomas Hendricks and husband, Brad, of Snow Hill; his grandchildren, Joshua Thomas, Taylor Law and husband, Robert, Ben Davidson and wife, Lindsey, Seth Davidson and wife, Jordan, Alex Edwards and wife, Allison, and Katie Hendricks; and great-grandchildren, Morgan Davidson, Walker Edwards, and Sadie Davidson.

A Celebration of Albert's Life will be held on Saturday, January 7, 2023, at 3:00 PM at Bethany Baptist Church, 704 Batchelor Road, Sharpsburg, NC 27878 with Braxton Price officiating. A visitation will be from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM prior to the service in the Sanctuary of Bethany Baptist Church.
