James Kennan Lucas

James Keenan Lucas, 30, of Morganton died Wednesday, June 18, 2014. He was born in Nash County NC on March 28, 1984 and was a son of Willie Ray Lucas, Sr. of Rocky Mount, NC and Kimberly Fleming Lucas of Morganton. James was a former member of Red Budd Holiness Church in Rocky Mount.
Surviving in addition to his parents are his sons, A'Keelan Lucas of Cleveland, OH and Kaysen Lucas of Morganton; grandmothers, Doris Fleming of Morganton and Winnie Whitted of Rocky Mount; brothers, Willie Ray Lucas, Jr. of Morganton and Keidric C. Lucas of Marion; a sister, Keisha Fleming of Charlotte; aunts, Debra Fleming, Sheryl Johnson and husband, Robert all of Morganton, Annie Epps and husband, Efon, Margaret Silver and husband, Pete, Lillie Jones and husband, John all of Rocky Mount, Dorothy Hinton and husband, Alphonso of Nashville, NC; and Susie Whitted of Knightdale, NC; uncles, James Whitted of Capital Heights, MD and Charles Lucas and wife, Vanessa of Rocky Mount; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends who loved him very much.
James was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Fleming and Samuel Lucas.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 p.m. Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at Harvest Praise Church with the Reverends Herbert Carter, Samuel Richardson, and Barry Camp officiating. Burial will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church Wednesday one hour before the service. At other times the family will be at his residence on Knowles Avenue.
