Jimmy Baker Sr.

Jimmy Baker, Sr., 71, passed away, Monday, October 18, 2010. He was the son of the late, Luther and Mattie Pridgen Baker. Jimmy was the owner of D&J Grocery. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and he enjoyed to cook. He was preceded in death by his wife Inez Baker, an infant baby girl Baker and three brothers, Albert, Dock and Shine Baker.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his companion, Pattie Bissette, one son, Jimmy Baker, Jr. and wife Ann of Rocky Mount, two daughters, Peggy Wheeless and husband Wayne of Rocky Mount, Kathy Pittman and husband Danny of Elm City, one sister, Minnie Billups and husband Thomas of Rocky Mount, eight grandchildren and sixteen great-grandchildren.
Funeral service will be Wednesday, October 20, 2010 at 6:00PM at Cornerstone Funeral Home with the Rev. Wayne Mills and Rev. Gerald Parker officiating. Visitation will follow after the service. Committal Service will be Thursday, October 21, 2010 at 11:00AM at Rocky Mount Memorial Park.
