Doris "Janet" Carr

Doris "Janet" Carr, 90, of Summerville, SC, entered into eternal rest on August 23, 2024, surrounded by her family.

Janet was born in Rome, NY, to Norman and Arvila Collatz Hadlock of Lee Center, NY. She married Edward G. Carr and they raised five daughters, Robin Fralix (Ernie), of Summerville, SC, Bonnie Foley (Paul), of New Hartford, Laurie Griffin (Bayne), of Perrry, GA, Leticia Mullin, of Rome, NY and Deedrea Payne (Doug), of New Hartford, NY.

She enjoyed reading, taking care of her beloved pets, country music and square dancing. She didn't hand out advice, but was a good listener. To many she was more than a neighbor or friend, she was considered family.

Janet was a faithful employee of Sears Roebuck until her retirement.

She is survived by her daughters; 12 grandchildren; 21 great-grandchildren; and 2 sisters, Norma Fillippini and Donna Mansfield.

Janet was predeceased in death by her parents; her husband of 62 years; brother, Dennis Hadlock; and sister, Cheryl Kistner.

Funeral services are private and will be held at the convenience of the family. There are no calling hours.

Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.
