Ellen L. Krumbach

1930 - 2024

Ellen L. Krumbach, 94, of Rome, passed away on Thursday, May 9, 2024, at MVHS Rehab and Nursing Center. She was born in McCutchenville, OH, on January 18, 1930, a daughter of the late Raymond and Mary (Roberts) Winterton. She was a graduate of Verona High School and on May 26, 1951, she was united in marriage to Jack L. Krumbach. He passed away on January 5, 2024.

Ellen was an employee at Rome Savings Bank for many years. She was a member of St. Paul's Church.

Ellen enjoyed bowling and playing golf and belonged to leagues in both sports for several years. She was an avid Tampa Bay Rays fan. She was a crossword puzzle wiz and an excellent pie baker. In their retirement, Ellen and her husband loved to travel.

She is survived by three daughters, Carol Macmanus (Joseph), Barbara Kane and Patricia Edmond (Russell); a son, Steven Krumbach (Teresa); nine cherished grandchildren, Christopher Macmanus (Megan), Christine Clark (Ian), Andrew Krumbach, Kathleen Krumbach, Nicole Krumbach (Jeffry), Thomas Triffo (Ashley), Kelsey Kane, Curtis Edmond (Courtney) and Eric Edmond (Irene); eleven precious great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by a two granddaughters, Mary Elizabeth and Stephanie Krumbach; two sisters, Marian Archibee and Lois Lacell; and three brothers, Roger, Raymond and Stewart Winterton.

Ellen's family would like to express their gratitude to the staffs at the Terrace at Woodlands, Wynn Hospital and MVHS Rehab and Nursing Center for their wonderful care and compassion.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 15th at 6:00 p.m. at Nunn and Harper Funeral Home, Inc. 418 N. George St., Rome NY 13440. Family and friends are invited to call at the funeral home prior to the service from 4-6:00 p.m.
