DAVID UNGER, 53 ROCKFORD - David Unger, 53, of Rockford passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones, Wednesday, December 17, 2014, after a long courageous battle with cancer. He was born December 12, 1961, in Mississippi; the son of Robert Sr. and Mamie Unger. David graduated from McAdams High School. David lived in Rockford since 1981. He was employed many years by Myco. David enjoyed spending time with family and friends and his two little dogs, Louie and Remy. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards, Green Bay Packers and a good cold can of Old Style. David is survived by his beloved of 18 years, Shari; son, Eric; daughter, Jessica; granddaughters, De'Myijah and Ja'Niyah; stepdaughter, Crystal and her daughter, Bella; brothers, Rufus (Rose) and Ricky; sisters, Pearl, Bessie Betty Jean and Ann; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and many wonderful friends. He was predeceased by his parents, brother and brother-in-law. Services will be held 1 p.m. Saturday, December 27, 2014, at Carl E. Ponds Funeral Home, 2429 W. State Street. Burial in Cedar Bluff Cemetery. Visitation will be from noon. until the time of service.
