Peter Spiekys

PETER B. SPIEKYS, 68 ROCKFORD - Peter B. Spiekys, 68, of Rockford, died suddenly Dec. 29, 2013, in Florida. Born June 3, 1945, in Rockford, the son of Peter J. and Frances (Anderson) Spiekys. Graduate of Rockford East High School, class of 1963 and Rockford College, class of 1977. Served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War. He married Bette E. Rundquist Aug. 23, 1969, in Rockford. Peter was an accountant and owned Winnebago Business Services in Winnebago. He was a former member of the Independent Accountants Association and Sons of the Desert Laurel and Hardy Film Group in Rockford. He is survived by his wife, Bette; daughter, Lisa (Scott) Grulke of St. Charles, IL; and granddaughters, Alexis and Lindsey. Peter's family meant the world to him, he enjoyed every moment they shared and all the memories they created. He will be greatly missed and forever loved. Funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 8, 2014, in Olson Funeral & Cremation Services, Ltd., Fred C. Olson Chapel, 1001 Second Ave., with Pastor Robert Rub Jr. officiating. Burial in Arlington Memorial Park. Visitation from 10 to 10:45 a.m. prior to the service in the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Rockford Rescue Mission, 715 W.
