Samuel Walter Obituary

SAMUEL K. WALTER, 24 HEBRON - Samuel K. Walter, 24, of Hebron passed away Wednesday, September 17, 2014, due to injuries sustained in an automobile accident. He was born March 20, 1990, in Rockford, IL to David and Brenda (Courtade) Walter. He graduated from Alden-Hebron High School, and was employed at Wheeling Service and Supply Inc. Sam was an avid reader; he loved reading about history especially about World War II. Sam so loved deer hunting and also fishing in Canada with his family and friends. He was a joy to be around, a great brother and friend. Sam always enjoyed sports and played in high school and was a big Bears fan. Sam will be deeply missed and will be remembered as a kind, caring person with a great sense of humor. Survivors include his parents Dave and Brenda Walter; sister, Kathryn Walter, his girlfriend, Ashley Francois; paternal grandmother, Judy Walter, and maternal step-grandfather, Ronald Streit; aunt and uncles, Lori (Ken) Hawes, Lana (Rob) Meyer, Kathy Flynn, Duane Walter, Debby (Fred) Faley, Charlotte (Tom) Deneen; and numerous cousins. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandmother and grandfather, Don Courtade and Pat Courtade-Streit; paternal grandfather, Kenneth Walter; aunt and Godmother, Kimmey Walter; uncle, Bob Flynn; and cousin, Nicholas Hawes. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, September 23, 2014, at Saunders & McFarlin Funeral Home, 107 W. Sumner Street, Harvard, IL 60033. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 24, 2014, at the funeral home. Interment will be in Dunham-Chemung Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family for a memorial at a later date, or the Hebron United Methodist Church, 9811 Main Street, Hebron, IL 60034.
