Helen Boutwell Obituary
She was born May 21, 1924, in West Rutland, VT, the daughter of Stanley and Alice (Krzystasiak) Rydjeski.
Upon graduation from West Rutland High School in 1942, she was asked to help the War Department as she was a top shorthand stenographer. She worked in Washington, D.C., until WW II ended.
Helen loved baking and cooking, and shared her creations with family and friends.
She attended St. Bridget's Church in West Rutland.
Survivors include her son, William Boutwell of West Rutland; a brother, Walter Rejeski of Rutland; and numerous nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband, Elwin Boutwell; sisters Jenny Rydjeski Daly and Mary Rydjeski Breznick; and brothers Ed Rydjeski, Stan Rydjeski, John Rydjeski and Henry Rydjeski.
Memorial contributions may be made to The Activity Fund at Mountain View Center, 9 Haywood Ave., Rutland, VT 05701.
Per her request, there will be no services at this time.
Arrangements are under the direction of Tossing Funeral Home.

I am very sorry for the loss of your mother. I have very fond memories of her teaching me how to ice skate at the rink in West Rutland. She was one of my first "Earth Angels".

I remember your Mom from the days she worked for the Dept pt of Social Welfare when it as located in the old woman's jail/ reformitory building in Rutland! My Mom worked there with her.....in the 1950's. Helen shared an office room with Charlitte Russell.
