Dear Family of Barbara LePera-Stacey,
I am writing as the Secretary of the Renaissance Society to express the condolences of our members at the passing of Barbara LePera-Stacey. Those who knew her here will miss their conversations and the knowledge they shared through our programs and seminars. We hope your memories will sustain you through these difficult days. My late wife (Lynne) was Barbara's best friend from the second grade. We used to visit Barbara and Kent many times when they lived in Henderson, Nevada, and we lived in the Los Angeles area. Lynne and I helped Barbara move back to Sacramento after Kent passed away. Barbara was a very special person. She is missed.

My dear friend Barb,
It is so hard to believe you are gone.
Years ago when we both worked for Dept of Health Services, we bonded over our mutual love of cats. Little did I know you would become such a special friend.
I last spoke with you on your birthday and we agreed to get together for a nice meal after the COVID restrictions were loosened. Our favorite haunt, Biba´s, was now closed and we agreed it would be hard to find another special place to celebrate our birthdays and Christmas. For many years, we exchanged Christmas gifts at Biba´s over an exquisite (and long) lunch. As usual, you were impeccably dressed, arrived with a beautifully wrapped gift and conversation was warm.
You were a kind and thoughtful friend to me and an all-round decent human being. I will miss you terribly.

I think of Barbara as a good friend of mine. I loved her mischievous ways and her taste for adventures and new experiences. She was always up for a caper or an outing. Barbara always dressed and accessorized beautifully. She loved looking her best and making an entrance. She chatted easily with everyone who crossed her path, her friendly manner bringing laughter to everyone she met. She was generous - to a fault, you could say, - buying gifts for her extended family and friends for every occasion.
Barbara loved her darling companions, - her kitty cats. She pampered them in a way that we would all like to be treated!
I have missed seeing Barbara these last few years, and I have quietly mourned for her since she moved away from being my neighbor.
I cry for her loss again today, although her bright light and funny ways stay with me always.
Rest In Peace Barb, (as she liked to be called). I´m thinking about you, with love ~ Lisa xxx Amen.
