Cecil, it was always my pleasure swapping sports stories with you at Brownies I learned a lot about Pirates baseball history from you and appreciate all of our conversations we had, you will be missed. All my best to your family.

Got to watch the video of the service. The families back here in wv were together for a viewing of the video, some shared memories, and a meal together. It was really special. Thoughts and prayers for aunt Irma, Marla, and Kirk.

Dear Irma and family,
Dave sees the Bee at work and learned of Cecil. Wow, time flies by. We have not seen Cecil for a long time but we have lots of memories from T & C church days. We have never had a Sunday school class like his ever again. We loved it so much and learned so much. We cherish those days. We are so sorry we could not make it but when Dave puts in 40 hours at work he has very little energy left. We talk with Cathy Cripe and Dale and got some details. Take care of yourselves now and get our address from Cathy if you want to write. Love Dave and Joyce

Sorry to hear about Uncle Cecil passing. We rarely got to visit but when we did, I always learned something about California or the Harlan family. Guessing I am one of three Harlan descendants born in that state. Our best to all of you.

As with everyone else who loved Cecil, I'm really going to miss that character. Whether it was Cecil cracking on my teams, laughing with/at me, or telling me his stories of life in West Virginia and the Ohio Valley back in his day, he had a way of making me feel like I was an old friend of his as if we'd known each other for longer than we did. I'm proud as well as very glad that I knew Cecil and was able to share his company for amount of time that I had to do so, a period that wasn't long enough. RIP Cecil and know that I'd have won this year's bet with you because your 2014 Steelers aren't going to amount to much (again), anyway. Goodbye, guy; it was my distinct pleasure to have known you and thought of you as my friend.
