Sacramento, California - Henry Garcia passed on April 16, joining his beloved wife Dolores and daughters, Theresa and Emilia (Mark Robinson). He leaves his children, Hank (Leslie) and Dan (Debbie), and Yolanda (David Armenta), and will be deeply missed by his nine grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.
Henry, a graduate of Sacramento High, spent two years in the U.S. Army Air Corps where he was stationed in Germany. Upon his discharge, he completed Aeronautical classes at Sacramento City Junior College. He worked at McClellan Air Force Base for 34 years, finishing his career as an Aircraft Production and Repair Specialist.
Among his many passions, he loved family, baseball, and serving his community. He was a member of the Grant Booster Club, coached and later became president of the Northgate Little League. In 1981, out of his love for God, he was part of the first class of deacons in the Catholic Diocese of Sacramento. Because of this, he had the opportunity to encourage many families in their faith. He was also privileged to serve as a Kaiser hospital chaplain.
A viewing for family will be on May 4, 2022 from 4-7 pm at the North Sacramento Funeral Home. The funeral service is scheduled at 11 am on May 5 at St. Joseph Church, 1717 El Monte Ave. Burial will follow at St. Mary's Cemetery, 6509 Fruitridge Rd., with a reception following at the St. Joseph Hall.
