My deepest sympathy to the Murphy family. I went to high school with Kevin and Karen. When I saw his high school photo it made me smile thinking of what a nice guy he was. Always smiling and joking around. Seek comfort in knowing he is with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Through my best friend Shelby, i met a wonderful man. A man that left a gift of love, kindness, and laughter to his family and friends. A type of man everyone should have the experience of knowing in their lifetime. im thankful to have known him even though it was only a short amount of time, but his memory will be with me forever. I love you.

To Kevin's family, "please accept my deepest sympathies. I just received a call on yesterday informing me that Kevin had passed. I worked with him for nine years. We always found something to Joke and Laugh about to keep us both up on graveyard. He will be truly missed but never forgotten. His friend for life (Chillywilly) that was name he gave me.

Kevin's daughter Shelby said it best for me while sharing her letter to her dad at his memorial service..."It's too early. I want you back. We want you back".

It gives one comfort to know that, though life ends we never really leave each other. Even in death our personal connection and memories of Kevin will continue to bring us smiles and laughter.

Shelby shared how she wanted "to hear his laughter again". So many times throughout the service I heard friends and family members say that what they remembered most about Kevin was his laugher.

When we think of "Big Papa Murph Dog, Padre, King Kong, Shelby's Dad and best friend, we will remember, as Shelby reminised, "his cheeks ball up like apples, showing his wide row of teeth, his air pent up in his chest, trapped, holding his breath until he let it out in high pitched bursts of giddiness, winding down, then up again."

The sound of his laughter will continue to resonate and fill our spirit with the joy of having known...
Funny Man, Storyteller, Taxi Cab Chauffeur, Hunter, Shelby's dad and best friend.

KEVIN TAYLOR MURPY, you will be missed, but not forgotten.

When I heard Kevin was in the hospital, I tried to find which one, but I was unsuccessful. Then I heard of his passing and words cannot express how sorry I am for your immense loss.
What a GREAT man Kevin was. To know him was to love him. He was kind, generous, fun, loving and genuine. He will be greatly missed.

Shelby, Lilly, Taylor and to all the Murphy family, we offer our deepest condolences with your sudden loss and our thoughts and prayers are with you. Kevin was such a great person, a long time friend, and will be missed forever. We worked together for many years @ P&G and became duck hunting partners with many enjoyable years hunting Modesto Reservoir. Many great times, memories, and stories I will never forget. He was know in the duck blind for the saying, "I Got 'em!" Four guys would stand up to shoot a flock of Mallards and he was always be 1st to say..."I Got'em! I Got'em!" He would beat my dog Jady out of the blind, running on water to retrieve the Greenhead, as he only shot Drakes, No Hens! One day hunting the “Big Mud Flats” Kevin dozed off again, snoring away! I quietly open up his over and under, unloaded his gun, and set it back in place. It wasn't long and I called in a flock of Mallards as Kevin would always wake up to the calling. I said, Don't Move, Don’t Look Up, Get Ready Boys…………Lets Take 'em! We all jumped up and Pow! Pow! Pow! Pow!, and Kevin's went Click!, Click! He was so mad at me, Darn It Huey, you better Never do that Again!! From then on Kevin always slept with one eye open! You'll be missed Murph, and never forgotten!

Dear Aunt Lilly, Uncle Taylor, Karen and Shelby. I am saddened about my dear cousin's passing as your son, brother and father he will surely be missed. He was such a nice, kind and good person. Kevin was always there helping out his friends, he was hard working and a loving cousin. Kevin was an honest man. I remember the days in Sloughhouse when Patricia my sister baby sat Kevin and Karen and Pam and I got to stay over too since we were all close in age. We all had a lot of fun and as we grew up and went our separate ways, when I'd see Kevin at family events, it was like no time had passed. That's a bond that is truly family. He was in the here and now in life and never had a bad word to say about anyone. He kept on moving foward with life as a strong good man. We'll see him again.

Dear Shelby and family -
We are so sorry to hear about Kevin and sorry we are unable to attend his funeral (we are in Montana until the 21st). We have known Kevin for along time and have many fond memories of him. He and Shelby have been over for dinner and just to visit. I always admired the close relationship they had. When Kevin lived down the road from us he would stop by to visit and would always allow our two boxers to maul him and laugh the whole time. I used to accuse him of coming to visit the dogs! We have seen him thru his bodybuilding days, Procter and Gamble days and then his most recent days of contract work. The last time we saw him was at Lawrence's Superbowl party in 2008. We are going to miss him dearly and I know the good memories of her dad will carry Shelby on thru life, she is a wonderful young lady.
We will always remember you Kevin

I am stunned and so sorry to hear of the passing of Kevin. I met Kevin through one of Kevin's dear friends Jimmy Vetro years ago. The three of us had spent some very good times hunting waterfowl. One of the most memorable time was when we had driven half the night to hunt Canadian Geese way up near Susanville California.Kevin minutes before shooting time was laying on the frozen ground snoring and I had this on video it was hilarious,Jimmy and I just laughed. What a great person he is. I will always have my video to cherish the memories. R.I.P MURPH

I have fond memories of Kevin from many years at P&G, BMW, bodybuilder, his imitations of Frank Santana, all of us watching Kevin fall asleep on graveyard, either on the Joa or the case packer, Kevin could fall asleep anywhere. His positive outlook will surely be missed. He will definitely be with God in Heaven along with Ben Jones.

Shelby,I know you were so very close to your father, You were the smile on his face and the reason he looked forwarded to another day. He loved you so very very much.
Michelle, I am so very sorry, you were so lucky to have such a great love and friendship with Kevin. You were so much a part of his life everyday.
Lillie and Taylor, Kevin was a wonderful kind, giving son. I know he respected and admired his dad so much and had such a deep love for his mom. As my friend, he listened, he laughed, he understood everything. His view of life was something of humor and experience. He has been a big part of my life since 1983, and he still will be, we just have to learn to communicate differently, I actually have to listen now, and hear him with my heart. I can no longer say "whatever Kevin" as he laughs at me, or with me. I miss you!!! What I would give for just one more day.

To the Murphy family...

Kevin was ambitious, to say the least. In my early twenties, I learned a great deal by listening to what he had to say. Kevin was a respectable guy also. May God continue to bless your family.
