Nicholas Brady Obituary

BRADY Nicholas Brady Bell Labs engineer, WWII Navy vet, 94 Nicholas Brady died Sunday evening, Dec. 10, 2006, at his home in Parsippany. He was 94. Relatives and friends are invited to call Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the S. J. Priola Parsippany Funeral Service, 60 North Beverwyck Road, Lake Hiawatha, (973-335-4700). A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated Thursday, Dec. 14, at 11 a.m. at St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church, Parsippany. Interment will follow at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, East Hanover. Born and raised in Belturbet, County Cavan, Ireland, Mr. Brady came to the United States in 1930, settling in New York. He moved to Parsippany in 1968. A U.S. Navy veteran of World War II, he was stationed in the Atlantic and Mediterranean Theaters and was a participant in the invasion of Normandy. Mr. Brady was a supervisor and mechanical engineer with N.J. Bell Telephone, later Bell Laboratories in New York and Whippany, where he worked for over 40 years before retiring in 1977. He was an active member of St. Peter the Apostle R.C. Church in Parsippany, and volunteered as a collection counter. He was also a life member of the County Cavan Mens Association. Mr. Brady is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Margaret Peggy (nee Kenneally), and several nieces and nephews. In lieu of flowers, kindly make memorial donations to St. Peters School.
