Oliver Deegan Obituary
August 5, 1943 - June 27, 2021
Rocklin, California - On Sunday, June 27th, 2021, Oliver (Ollie) Deegan, loving husband, father, and grandfather passed away peacefully at the age of 77. Ollie was born and raised in Kilkenny, Ireland where he attended college and developed a passion for golf and the Kilkenny Cats hurling team (up the Cats!). He immigrated to Northern California where he and his wife Mary raised four children, John (Ginny), Roisin (Robert), Molly (Matt), and Joseph (Natasha). He was preceded in death by his wife Mary and later married Sue McCarron-Deegan who has been lovingly by his side since 2007. Ollie and Sue have been living in Rocklin, California near many of his children and grandchildren.
Ollie retired as a Federal Probation Officer and transitioned into a new career as a Professor of Criminal Justice at Santa Rosa Junior College. He was passionate about helping others which made his careers in probation and teaching an ideal fit. He was an amazing story teller, an avid golfer, the life of every party, and never shy to sing a traditional Irish song at the top of his lungs. Ollie was a truly wonderful man who made an impact on so many throughout his lifetime and will be sadly missed by all who were lucky to have known him.

I enjoyed Ollie´s friendship since the late 1960s. He was fun to be with and told great stories. His responses to life events were always faith-filled. Very uplifting!
