Richard Madonia Obituary

MADONIA, RICHARD J.
"DICK"
Born in Springfield, IL, on Feb. 24, 1936, he went home to his Lord, May 13, 2003, in Sacramento. He is survived by Julie, his wife of 40 yrs.; brother, Robert of Springfield; his uncles, Paul of IN, Sevet of Springfield, Sam of Elk Grove, and Charles Bledsoe of FL; his aunts, Rose Simberger of Litchfield, IL and Katherine Marleau of OR, as well as numerous cousins, nephews and nieces. He was a 46 year resident of Sacramento. After service in the Navy, Dick worked at Aerojet in the Maintenance Dept., as well as at Last Chance gold mine beyond Foresthill, on construction sites. For the last six years of his life, he was the tennis court manager at McKinley Park, in Sacramento. He was a member of Coloma Shuffleboard Club, AARP, American Legion and a past member of the VFW. A celebration of his life will be held at McKinley Park, near the tennis courts, on Sat., May 31, between 2pm and 4pm. Remembrances may be made to a charity of choice. Arrangements by W.F. Gormley & Sons.
