Doris Feinberg Obituary
Born April 23, 1918, in Salamanca, she was the daughter of the late Philip and Frances (Lipsitz) Evans, also of Salamanca.
She was a graduate of Salamanca High School, Class of 1936, and was a graduate of both Pennsylvania State University and Hunter College of New York City.
Mrs. Feinberg was employed as an elementary school teacher, by the Salamanca City Schools, at Prospect Elementary School in Salamanca. Previously, she taught in the New York City School System.
She enjoyed skiing, golfing, playing tennis, bicycling, traveling and dancing with Joel.
Surviving are a son, Andrew (Namhee) Feinberg of Chandler, Ariz.; a daughter, Lisa Feinberg-Duckett of Wellsville; five grandchildren, Frances Feinberg of Chandler, Ariz., Anna (Duncan) Beckett of Iguala, Mexico, Philip Feinberg of Erlanger, Ky., Louis Feinberg, of Chandler, Ariz., and Raymond Evan Duckett of Buffalo; and one great-granddaughter, Kaia Shay.
She was predeceased by her brother, Raymond Evans.
A Celebration of Life was held in the O'Rourke & O'Rourke Inc. Funeral Home, 25 River St., Salamanca, N.Y., on Thursday (July 11, 2013), at 1 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorials be made to the Salamanca Public Library Memorial Fund or to the Empire Animal Rescue Society (E.A.R.S.), 2 Fancher Avenue, Salamanca, N.Y. 14779.
