Edward Trollinger Obituary
ROCKWELL - Edward Decker Trollinger, Jr., 85, died Friday, Sept. 25, 2009, at Rowan Regional Medical Center.
Born Sept. 22, 1924, in Bremerton, Wash., he was the son of the late Edward Decker Trollinger, Sr. and Minnie Grace Mitchie Trollinger.
Mr. Trollinger graduated from Georgetown University with a Bachelors Degree in Foreign Affairs. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving in WWII and Korean Conflict. He worked with Prudental Insurance Company for 32 years.
Before moving to Salisbury 20 years ago, he and his wife, Ruth, were very active in their church, Christ Church, in Kensington, Md.
A member of St. Luke's Episcopal Church, he served on the Vestry and sang in the choir.
Survivors include wife of 48 years, Ruth Purvis Trollinger, whom he married May 12, 1961; sons, Edward Decker Trollinger, III (Kim) of Damascus, Md. and John Kenneth Trollinger (Saroja) of Columbia, Md.; daughters, Gail Trollinger Mosher (Wayne) of Salisbury and Charlotte Leigh Walker (Harry) of Palm Bay, Fla.; sister, Elizabeth Massengale of Bennettsville, Va.; grandchildren, Matthew Decker Trollinger, Kristin Grace Trollinger and Dana Barrow Kleine (David); step-grandchildren, Karem Sioud, Jeffrey Mosher and Morgan Mosher; and one great-granddaughter, Katie Leigh Kleine.
Service: 1 p.m. Tuesday, at St. Luke's Episcopal Church with Rev. Whayne M. Hougland, Jr. officiating. Inurnment will follow at the church columbarium.
Visitation: In the Parrish Hall following the services.

Dear Ruth, Gail, Wayne & Family,
I was so sorry to hear about Mr. Trollinger passing away. He was such a good man. I always loved to see him and Mrs. Trollinger come into Johnnys. They would always keep me up on how all of the family was doing. James and I are with you in our thoughts and prayers. If we can do anything please let us know. Dear Ruth,
We are sorry to hear of Ed's passing. We will always remember the good times we had at Christ Church. We in particular remember how Ed stood up for and made sure
Father Moore and Betty were provided for in their retirement.

What a delightful brother-in-law. We did not often find ourselves on the same wave length but Ed was an honest and open man. I would have trusted him with anything. He was a loving and careing husband to my sister and we all appreciate that.

Ed was a second grandfather to Sarah and Nat, and his service to Christ Church Kensington as semi-permanent Senior Warden will never be forgotten. He will be sorely missed.

As the years go by, we may lose touch but the memories last forever and never forgotten. My most fond memories are those of camping trips, family dinners, sleepovers, and most of all being taken in as one of their own where I felt the warmth and love within.
