Bountiful, UT-Gary Frank Nelson, 75, died peacefully of natural causes June 6, 2023, at the Life Care Center of Bountiful. He was born on July 17, 1947 at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah. Gary was the oldest child of Dewey Frank and Beverly Davis Nelson.

Gary graduated from Phoenix West High School, Class of 1965. Following his graduation, he served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints in Mexico City, Mexico from 1966 to 1968. Gary was a loyal member of the church. After returning from his mission, he went to Brigham Young University where he earned a bachelor's degree in Spanish and a master's degree in Business Administration. While there, he met Sue Ann Hinckley at a college dance. They were married for 24 years and had four beautiful daughters: Kristina Nelson Orton, Alison Nelson Stewart (John Stewart), Heather Nelson, and Jennifer Nelson Leal (Kyle Leal). Gary was blessed with eight grandchildren: Korina Orton, Alex Orton, Phillip Andrew Orton, Emma Stewart, Kaden Orton, Camille Stewart, Gabriella Leal, and Gianna Leal. Gary loved his grandchildren very much. He later married Barbara Westbrook and lived in Arizona with her for 22 years. He is survived by his sisters Carolyn Hanchett and Sally Lewis and his brother Brent Nelson.
