Roy Miller Obituary

Roy R. MILLER Died at home in Shoreline on February 11, 2007. He was born May 2, 1926 in Falls City, Nebraska. He graduated from Fall City High School in 1943 and enlisted the US Army that same year. He served with honors in Europe in the 75th Infantry. Roy moved to Seattle after the war where he met his wife of 59 years, Elizabeth. He earned a BA in Finance from the University of Washington and was a Husky fan until his death. Roy worked for Safeco for 22 years, then in 1978 became his own boss and bought Northgate General Insurance Agency. He then retired in 1996. Roy was a Nile Shriner and served as President of the Calliope Unit and later as President of the Clown Unit. He also was a member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry and was active in their Speech and Hearing Clinic on Capitol Hill. Roy was preceded in death by his son, Carl in 2006. Roy is loved and missed by his wife, Elizabeth, daughter, Julie, grandchildren, Andrew and Shelby and daughter-in-law, Leeh. Roy will always be remembered for his sense of humor, love of his family, dogs sports, and gardening. Roy's Memorial Service will be held on Monday, March 12 at 2:00 p.m. at Ronald United Methodist Church, 17839 Aurora Ave N., Shoreline, WA 98133.
