Our husband, Dad, and Bapa was born July 18, 1947 to Russell L. Solomon Sr and Emma Griffith. He graduated from West High School in 1965. Russ worked at the Union Pacific Railroad and retired after 34 years. Russ married his high school sweetheart and love of his life, Verla Lindorff Solomon in 1966. They were together in life for 50 years and had three beautiful daughters. Russ enjoyed road tripping, baseball, fishing and spending time with his grandkids.
Russ is survived by his wife, his daughters; Cori (Dennis) Micek, Holli (James) Deering and Heather Solomon, grandchildren; Ricky, Jordan, Olivia, Dallas, Tanner, Saige, great grandchildren; Allee and Ricky, siblings; Kelli Penrose, Shawna Augustine and Wayne Solomon.
Preceded in death by his parents, sister Luella and grandson Eston.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, January 28, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. at Valley View Funeral Home, 4335 West 4100 South, West Valley City. A viewing will be held at 11:00 - 12:45 prior to the service. Condolences may be sent to the family at www.valleyviewfuneral.com.

Words seem inadequate to express the sadness we feel at the loss of Rusty. Our hearts go out to you and the entire family in your time of sorrow. Gary grew up with Rusty they were both blessed to have the same sister "Luella". Rusty was a great guy, we have many fond memories of your entire family. Thanks Russ for being someone I knew in my life. You are as good a friend a guy could ask for. You'll be missed by all and God Bless to ones grieving. You left us too soon dear uncle.
