Ruth Erickson Obituary
Our beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend returned to her Heavenly Father on November 11, 2016 following an accident.
Born in Murray, Utah on September 30, 1951 to Sherrod Smith Jr. and Marian James Smith, Ruth Anne was the second of four children. She was a proud graduate of Granite High School and served on the Reunion Committee of the Class of '69 for many years. Ruth Anne married Jerry Erickson in the Salt Lake City Temple on February 16, 1973 and together they had a son, Brian Jerry, who was the center of Ruth Anne's life. They made their home in West Jordan until Jerry passed away in 2007.
Ruth Anne's patriotic pride was well known, particularly her love for all things red, white and blue. She enjoyed holiday gatherings, where her gifts were generous and her laugh infectious - her family knew if they could get her laughing hard, she would not be able to stop. She loved her family deeply and was overjoyed when her granddaughter was born. Ginny was Ruth Anne's "cutie pie" and the apple of her eye.
Throughout many physical trials in her life, Ruth Anne maintained a strong faith in the Lord and testimony that "families are forever," as she was fond of reminding those around her.
In death, her corneas were donated so that another might have the gift of sight.
Ruth Anne is survived by her son, Brian, and granddaughter, Virginia Jo Erickson; siblings Michael (Janis) Smith, Paulette (Randy) McMillan, and Jayna (Allen) Lofgran; mother-in-law Erleen Erickson; brothers-in-law Kent (Cindy) Erickson, Ronald (Sondra) Erickson, and Steven Erickson. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, husband, father-in-law Junior Erickson, and brother-in-law Robert Erickson.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, November 19, 2016 at 11:30 a.m. at the Mountain Shadows 2nd Ward, 7903 South 2700 West, West Jordan. Prior to services, there will be a viewing from 10:00-11:00 a.m. Interment, Valley View Cemetery.

I worked with Ruth Anne at Gecko's, she was always so happy, Ill never forget her excitement when she found out she was going to be a grandma! she bragged about her cute grand daughter all the time. I will miss her smiling face.
