Agnes Flory Obituary
Agnes Pauline Flory, 73, a homemaker, died Saturday, May 26, 2001 near Amarillo. Funeral: 3:30 P.M., Thursday at Mount Olivet Chapel. Burial: Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 to 8:00 P.M., Wednesday at Mount Olivet Funeral Home. Agnes Flory, 73, left this world behind in the morning of Saturday, May 26, 2001 when she went to be with Jesus. She was tragically killed in an automobile accident near Amarillo while on vacation with her husband. Agnes Flory was born January 3, 1928 in Fort Worth. She was the daughter of Mayme and Ralph Kirklin. In 1946, she married her high school sweetheart, E.E. 'Gene' Flory. She was a faithful member of First Baptist Church of Euless. For 55 years, she served the Lord while lovingly facilitating the career of her husband and nurturing her family. Those who knew her describe her as loving, kind and generous.
Never complaining, always thankful, cheerful and kind, she spread an effervescent happiness to all those about her. Her ceaseless prayers on behalf of her family, friends and those in need distinguished her and blessed her with an angelic glow of warmth and love. She was always ready to help others, give of herself and volunteer her time and talents. To her children and grandchildren, she was a steadfast source of strength, faith, optimism, compassion, encouragement and great fun. To her husband, she was an inspiration, helper, soul mate and best friend. Together, they shared life's greatest joys, hardships, sadness and rewards. Her favorite scripture was Psalm 139. As it says there, surely God 'put his hand of blessing upon her head'. Agnes loved the Lord and lived every day with anticipation and expectation of seeing Jesus face to face. She will be missed greatly by all the many lives she touched and for the wealth of unselfish kindliness she shared with those who were fortunate enough to know her. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Kenneth Flory; brothers, Leroy and Arthur Wade Kirklin. Survivors: Gene Flory, husband of 55 years; daughter, Barbara Milliorn and husband Mike of Fort Worth; daughter, Jan Clark and husband Ted of Sachse; daughter-in-law, Margie Flory of San Antonio, widow of Ken Flory; grandchildren, Matt Milliorn and wife Sharee, Andy Milliorn, Megan Bradley and husband Brent, Kelly Clark, Nick Flory and Travis Flory.
