Antonio Garza Obituary
On Saturday, January 5, 2019, Antonio (Tony) L. Garza, peacefully passed away at the age of 74. Born on September 1, 1944 in San Antonio, TX to Antonio V. and Guadalupe E. Garza, Tony graduated from Holy Cross High School and St. Edward's University. Tony was a loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, son, and loyal friend.
Tony is survived by his wife of 50 years, Emma Garza, son Tony Garza III and daughter Erica Potthast; siblings Gloria Patterson and Socorro Davila; grandchildren: Christopher, Tony IV, Gabriella, Gavin and Griffin; and other relatives.
As owner of River City Brokerage for 35 years, Tony was quick witted with an infectious smile. He was an avid golfer, music enthusiast, and cooking perfectionist with a kind, compassionate spirit that enjoyed life to the fullest.
Visitation will begin Thursday, January 10th at 5:00 p.m. in The Angelus Chapel with a Rosary to be recited at 7:00 P.M. Funeral Mass will be offered Friday, January 11th at 10:00 A.M. at Holy Spirit Catholic Church. Interment will follow at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Holy Cross of San Antonio (426 N San Felipe Ave, S.A., 78228).

My sincere condolences. I am so sorry for your loss. I'm glad I was able to enjoy some coffee and laughs last November in San Antonio. Then he was off to get his computer fixed when we left. Before that, I remember the nice, warm, welcome after being on I-10 for 13 hours when we left Houston to escape Hurricane Rita.

Tony was always ready with a smile, and a handshake. He was a typical Cosmopolitan Golf Association golfer, one that loved golf, played because he loved it not because he was very good at it, and loved the companionship. He will now play only good golf with the Good Lord, and we all will miss him. My condolences and prayers to his family.
